Uncle Johnny's 21st Birthday!

For Johnny's 21st Birthday his family and friends threw him a surprise party (he is not an easy person to surprise, either). It was so fun and the Guitar cake that I made was a big hit.

Gianna loved the food and socializing with all of the cool college kids.

And of course, getting a ride from Poppy.

Gianna and Daddy's Fort

The picture says it all...

Baby Giraffe at the Zoo

The Oakland Zoo now has 3 Generations of Giraffe living all together (Grandma, Mom and Baby). Here are some pictures from when the Baby Giraffe was about 2 months old.

Exploratorium

We tried to go to the re-opening of the Academy of Sciences, but the 50,000 person crowd and over mile-long line sent us over to the Exploratorium. Gianna's Ooda, Poppy (Jessica's parents), and Uncle Johnny met us there and it ended up being a really fun day.

Justin was thirsty when we got there:

"Why did Daddy's drink from the Potty?"
Tanagrams
Rope thing that Gianna LOVED!
Gianna was amazed by the floating ball.
The Xylophone is always a favorite

Last day of Gymboree

This summer we loved going to Gymboree and, although it took Gianna almost the whole session to get used to going, by the end she loved it. Her favorite part was the parachute (of course she had to help shake it with the grown-ups instead of sitting on it like the other kids), bouncing on the "air log", and getting a stamp at the end of class.

Santa Rosa

Here are a few pictures from our recent trip to Santa Rosa:

Gianna supervising the wood-splittingand the way that Rita gets all of her meals while Gianna is there (fortunately she is a very patient dog).

Tomato Harvest

Fortunately our tomato harvest has satisfied Gianna's cravings for "Eee-yeooos" all summer long. She is so good and waits until the tomatoes are red to pick them, then brings them to Mommy to wash them.

Here is our harvest one day in September.

Mouse Hat

Funny Kid, that's all.

Gilroy Gardens!!!

We were lucky enough to have a friend of Justin's parents give us a few free passes to Gilroy Gardens . After hearing a few rave reviews about how great it is for kids that are Gianna's age we were so happy to get a chance to go. Gianna loved it! I can't believe how lucky we are to have something like this practically in our back yard.

Here are the highlights of the day, in photos:

Fire Engine Ride
Race Car Ride

Gianna's favorite: the fishy ride (it was so fast and she laughed so hard! ...and then cried when it was over).Family on the car ride (the one where you drive along that track thing).

Caterpillar "roller coaster" with daddy.

At the "Country Fair" buffetIce cream on a hot day. What could be better?
We highly recommend Gilroy Gardens to anyone with little kids, it wasn't crowded at all and Gianna had a blast!

Portia turns 2!

Portia turned 3 at the beginning of September and we were so excited to help her celebrate! Gianna especially loved it because it was at a farm in Half Moon Bay. Highlights were:

The bounce house with Daddy (we went in while the other kids were doing the pinata, so Gianna had it all to herself!).

Feeding the Goats...

Smelling the beautiful sunflowers
The duckpond

The cake! And, of course, the balloons.
Thanks for inviting us!
