Once we got the tree home we got it right inside and got down the decorations. Gianna loved looking through all of the decorations, listening to the Chimpmunk's Christmas CD, and helping to decorate the tree. She can already say "Christmas Tree" and ask to go see the lights. We've already spent a few nights driving around the tri-valley taking her to see Christmas lights and she loves it!
The tree is in place! Lights: Check! Family Photo:
This is what a Christmas tree looks like when you have a toddler (notice that there are no ornaments within toddler arms reach).
This year's Christmas Tree trip was much simpler than last year's. Considering that I was less than 2 weeks from my due date we opted for a short trip to Castro Valley to cut our own tree (as opposed to the 2-day tree farm extravaganza in Sebastopol we had last year).
Gianna had fun helping pick out the tree and she even got a mini one of her own.
I think her favorite part was laughing at Daddy as he tied it to the car, although helping cut the tree down was a close second (you can hear Justin cutting the tree in the video, but you see Gianna using the saw cover to "cut", so it looks pretty funny):
Gianna gives it a real try: I found the perfect tree! Mommy helps cut: Copying Daddy:
We rented the caboose on the Train of Lights again this year and had an amazing time. Since I'm not up to going out and about to do much Christmas shopping, we decided to give tickets as gifts to a lot of my family. We were lucky enough to have Gianna's Ooda (her word for my mom), Poppy, Uncle Johnny, Auntie Sarah, and Great Grammy along with us. It was such a special evening with friends, family, food and and a very strange conductor (but that's another story). We're already looking forward to next year!
Riding with Daddy on the train: "Hey, You found us!" Daddy and Gianna in the Cupola. Sophia and Gianna riding the train together (so grown up!)Mommy chasing Gianna while we check out the lights on the train. Gianna's favorite decorations were the stars (or as she calls them "How I Wonder") We didn't plan all dressing in red, I swear.
On Thanksgiving morning, we made sure Gianna got up in time to get a good look at the Turkey (and to watch Great Grammy season it). She seems confused. And maybe a little grossed out.
Gianna loves to help in the kitchen, here she is in mid-November helping make brownies. Okay, so the actual brownies were already in the oven, but she liked mixing the empty batter bowl a lot.
I am issuing 18 day notice for EVICTION (Eviction scheduled December 22, 2008 at 9:00 am). Baby Buscho will have 18 days in which they can either gather his/her belongings and promptly vacate the premises, or wait until the final day. After which, action will have to be taken to remove him/her from the property.
Baby Buscho is being evicted due to failure to comply with terms of contract and destruction of property. A 9 month lease was all that contract allows and application for extension has been denied.Additionally, expansions only to the FRONT of the property, within reasonable limits, were discussed. Not only have these limits been exceeded, but additions to the back of the property were also made!
Remodeling and gutting of the residence was never approved, nor was changing the initial layout and base structure. And due to property damage, there are now noticeable unapproved changes in both the upper AND lower levels of the home. On top of which, late night parties have been discovered and these are not allowed.
If Baby Buscho does not comply with the notice within 18 days, the result will be an immediate and forceful removal at Landlord’s discretion.

What the kids are saying and doing (updated 9/18/09):
Gianna: "Lets make a craft!" and "I want to do something Connor can't do while he's taking his nappy." Gianna is getting so good at singing, dancing and performing. She says she is going to be famous.
Connor: "Ball" "Ruff" (dog) "Mak" (milk) and "Woah!!" He is a climber...he'll go to the top of the playground and go down any slide. Totally fearless.
